PERSONALITY
A powerful and high ranking angel, leader of the order of Demon Hunters.
Although one might expect an angel such as her to be warm as a gentle ray of sun, the truth is that Aura is more comparable to a shard of ice. She is notorious for her stone-cold professionalism. She is stern and strict, with no tolerance for nonsense or fooling around. Harsh toward those who fail to meet her impossibly high expectations. Has she ever had fun or smiled in her life? Probably not.
Her presence exudes an air of confidence that commands attention. She always carries herself with regal pride and dignity, upholding a reputation of a refined and proper noblewoman. She is aloof and haughty, with a rather stuck-up, holier-than-thou attitude. She tends to look down on others, and refuses to admit when she is wrong.
Above all, she likes the feeling of being in control. Authority will be obeyed, insubordination will not be tolerated. Her insatiable ambition drives her to be ruthless and conniving in pursuit of her goals, seeing others as pawns she is willing to sacrifice for her own gains. She is cunning, manipulative, and always scheming.
Despite the coldness, she is known to have a temper as unpredictable and destructive as a wildfire. If you invoke her wrath... be very afraid.

- If it was not already apparent from the fact she has devoted over a millennia of her life to killing them, Aura hates demons, the enemies of angelkind since time immemorial. She enjoys the sadistic thrill of hunting them down. No absolution. No remorse. No mercy.
- When she is not on the battlefield, she is probably scheming her way through celestial political drama. Ambitiously aspires to be accepted into the High Council of Archangels.
- Halo is incorporeal, made of light. Occasionally it flickers like flames, especially with strong emotions. By default it is usually present, but it can be "turned off" at will.

- Her manner of speech is a bit stiff and formal, speaks without contractions.

POWERS
Due to the amount of souls she owns (all past Demon Hunters who have served her) Aura is immensely powerful, in terms of both social status and magic prowess. Her specialty is harnessing the power of the sun to control fire, heat, and light. Powers include:
- PYROMANCY: Can summon and control flames. Fortunately, she is also completely fireproof.
- THERMOMANCY: By manipulating heat energy, she is able to increase the temperature of objects or localised areas. A strange side effect of this is that her own body temperature always burns hot, but she seems unaffected by this.
- RADIANCE: Can illuminate a room with a snap of her fingers. Or disorient enemies with a blinding flashbang of sacred light.
- SPECTRAL WEAPON: For melee combat, the main weapon she fights with is not physical, but rather a concentrated shard of light magic (imagine something akin to a lightsaber). It can be summoned/dispelled at will, and it's shape can be morphed into any simple weapon form desired. She is only able to maintain the shape for as long as it is held in her grip, once she lets go it disintegrates into sparks.
- HEALING: Quick to heal from physical wounds. She can also heal others, but it comes at the cost of her own vitality. (She is not selfless enough to use this ability often.)
- ALTERNATE FORMS: Limited shapeshifting ability. Can assume a human disguise, if she ever needs to blend in with mortals. Also has a beast form resembling a giant skyraptor (a strange paravian creature from the celestal realm).
Standard powers all angels possess to some degree:
- IMMORTALITY: Like all angels, Aura is ageless and sempiternal. She can still be injured, but the only way to truly kill her is by destroying the soul with magic.
- SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE: Despite her appearance of graceful elegance, do not make the mistake of assuming she is fragile and dainty. She is far stronger than she looks, could effortlessly pick you up with one hand and throw you across the room like a ragdoll.
STORY
Aura does not talk about her past. She does not like to reveal much about herself at all. If questioned, she would claim that is irrelevant and reprimand you for prying.
What is known is that she and her twin sibling Soleil were highborn nobles who become knights. They grew up in an era when the angels and demons were actively at war with each other, a bloody conflict that spilled into the mortal realm. For centuries they served in the celestial army, rising through the ranks, earning a reputation for being a formidable duo of ruthless warriors, seemingly unstoppable.
Until their defeat at the hands of a demon lord. Plans went awry, their unit was decimated by the enemy forces. Amid the chaos of the battle, Sol was captured and taken captive. Everyone knows the legend of how Aura defied her commander's order to retreat. Taking matters into her own hands, she rallied the survivors, and personally led a counter attack, in pursuit of revenge. She returned with the severed head of the lord, hailed as a champion.
However, the rescue mission was not entirely a success. She found Sol too late, tortured and maimed, barely clinging on to life. Although Aura slaughtered those responsible, neither were ever the same after that.
Nonetheless, as a boon for her victory, she was granted the right to lead her own splinter faction. For such a request to be permitted was unprecedented. Rumour has it, she struck a bargain with the high council, although the exact details are not publicly known.
These events are what led to Aura forming The Order of Mortal Demon Hunters. Although, it would not have been possible without Sol's final sacrifice.
Of course, there are more details Aura chooses to leave out of that story...
RELATIONSHIPS
As the overseer of the Demon Hunters, Aura has close ties with the Nocturne family, and has known Eden his whole life. But despite what Eden may be led to believe, their bond is not one of "friendship". He is her subordinate, her faithful hunting dog, and she sees him as more of an expendable tool than a person.
Unfriendly acquaintances. They do not trust each other, and Aura finds her to be a nuisance. But for the time being, she is useful to keep around.
Despises that dissident traitor, and has sworn that if they ever encounter each other again she will not hesitate to burn him alive, a fate befitting for a heretic.
A trusted friend. Enemy sympathiser.
Aura's twin sibling. Cut from the same cloth, inseparable, they made a great team. Soleil was one of very few that Aura truly cared about, and losing them felt like losing a piece of herself.
